1. ELIGIBILITY:

  • One will need a valid fishing license through the Texas State Parks & Wildlife.
  • Each Team will consist of either 1 to 2 anglers per boat.
  • Maximum number of people on a tournament boat is 2.
  • However, anglers 16 yrs old or younger / 65 years or older - three (3) people per boat are permitted to fish the tournament. 
  • There is NO minimum age limit.


2. ENTRY FEE:

  • Each tournament is $80.00 per boat / team. 
  • *Bonus Rounds do not reflect this entry fee as the prize will be provided by the Minor League Fishing officials or donated.
  • All entry fees are to be paid by CASH only.
  • Once entry fees are paid there are no refunds.


3. REGISTRATION:

  • Registration starts at 5:30am-6:30am the day of the tournament at the BOAT RAMP / LAUNCH SITE. If you are lost CONTACT US
  • ​To find out which boat ramp / launch site will be held at please check the Tournament Schedule page. 
  • All anglers are subject to have a live well checks before the tournament begins.

4. MORNING TAKE-OFF / START OF TOURNAMENT RULES:

  • All tournament anglers may launch after they have registered at the designated area. 
  • Anglers / Teams are allowed to run to destination of first cast after registration if desired but...    
  • First cast will be at 6:30am. Any angler / team caught in violation will be disqualified.


5. TIME OF TOURNAMENT / WEIGH-IN:

  • The tournament times are from 6:30am to 3:00pm.
  • All Anglers must be inside the buoys by 3:00pm.
  • Their will be a majority vote by the tournament anglers if boat problems or other issues arise in missing the weigh in @ 3:00pm. 


6. LIMIT OF FISH:

  • The number of fish will consist of 5 bass (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, Guadalupe, Guadalupe-Smallmouth bass.)
  • All fish have to be a 14’’ minimum OR Lake regulations, whichever is greater.
  • ALL fish will be measured with the Gator Grip Golden Ruler.
  • Dead fish will be a 1⁄2 pound penalty per fish.
  • If a tie occurs, the single biggest fish the team has will determine the winner.
  • ​Fish are to be properly cared for and kept alive through the use of a good working aerated live well.
  • ​The use of live well additives such as Sure-Life is recommended to ensure the healthy release of fish and reducing the stress on fish while in live wells and during the weigh in. 


7. SAFETY / ANGLER ETIQUETTE:

  • This is a group effort. No one will be responsible for accidents or damages.
  • Anglers are to use there discretion to head for cover or to continue fishing when severe weather were to occur during the Minor League Fishing Tournament.
  • First Cast begins @ 6:30am.
  • ALL boat must maintain a curtsey distance of a minimum of 30 yards from other tournament boats.
  • There is NO off limits on the tournament lakes.
  • Artificial baits/lures only, with the exception of pork trailers and Gulp Alive.
  • All persons in tournament boats must abide to all lake rules.
  • All fish must be caught with rod and reel on a hook during the tournament hours.
  • Only one fishing rod per angler may be used at any one time.
  • Cheating will result in disqualification.
  • No non-tournament passengers are allowed on tournament boats, with the exception of tournament officials.
  • Every tournament boat and anglers are required to have all of the State of Texas safety requirements when it comes to fishing, and boating in Minor League Fishing Tournaments.


8. BONUS ROUND:

  • Bonus round will consist of the biggest non-largemouth bass fish caught, this includes: (Smallmouth, White bass, Striper, Guadalupe-Bass, Perch species, Catfish, Carp, ...  
  • Basically if it swims and is not a Largemouth it can be eligible to be weighed in!
  • Bonus fish will not be counted towards the teams overall stringer weight.
  • However if a bass species over 14" is caught and is part of the anglers teams stringer it is still eligible.
  • (Ex: 4 Largemouth Bass + 1 Smallmouth Bass = 5 fish limit, the Smallmouth bass is eligible for the Bonus round and part of the anglers stringer weight). 
  • ALL fish weighed in for the bonus round must meet State and Lake length regulations.
  • ​Bonus round will be a non-cash prize provided by either the tournament officials or donated.
  • If NO bonus fish are weighed in the prize will be awarded to the lowest stringer WEIGHED IN. 


9. INVASIVE SPECIES PRECAUTIONS:

  • All boats, trailers, and equipment that contact water must be cleaned prior to launching on park waters and are subject to inspection by NPS personnel.
  • If boats or trailers have visible plants, mud, mussels, or other signs of contamination, they will not be allowed to enter the water and are subject to enforcement of all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Upon take-out, while still in the immediate are of the lakeshore, the following tasks must be completed:
  • ​​Drain the water from motors, live wells, and bilges on land.
  • ​Completely inspect vessels and trailers, removing any grit or debris.
  • Before leaving the local community, use a commercial boat wash or car wash facility to:
  • ​Flush motors and bilges with hot water of at least 104 F.
  • Wash hulls, equipment, bilges, wells, holds, and any other surface exposed to lake water in hot water of at least 104 F.
  • Clean and wash trailers, vehicle, fishing equipment, or any other items that come in contact with lake water because mussels​ and microscopic larvae can live in small pockets anywhere water collects. ​​
